What a beautiful day it was on Saturday, September 21, 2013 to celebrate Becky Markowitz's Bat Mitzvah. A Bat Mitzvah, like a Bar Mitzvah for a young man, occurs when a girl reaches 13 years old and is recognized by Jewish tradition as having the same rights as an adult. She is now morally and ethically responsible for her decisions and actions. The ceremony was held at Beth Emeth on Lea Blvd and the reception was held at the Waterfall Banquet Center on Philadelphia Pike. About 100 family and friends helped Becky celebrate this new chapter in her life. Rich in tradition, ceremonies such as Hora, Candle Lighting Ceremony, and Blessing were all evident.
